One of the reasons why urgent care is preferable to the emergency room is that your wait time will be substantially less. • WHEN SHOULD I GO TO AN URGENT CARE CENTER NEAR ME?
Urgent care facilities are an alternative to going to the emergency room. If your illness or injury is not life-threatening, but it cannot wait until the next day/next available doctor’s appointment, then you should go to an urgent care center. Patients with life-threatening injuries or illnesses should go to a hospital emergency room instead.
